Pictures from Florida

We recently took a trip to Florida, and as usual I dragged along my camera and several rolls of film to record high spots of the trip.  We had some time to do some work at St. Augustine Wild Reserve, and I've got a few pictures from that adventure to share.  Clicking on each image will link you to a larger version.

Here are some MPEG clips you may look at from our most recent trip in October of 2002

But first, I have to show you this - I found this statue guarding one end of the drawbridge leading out to Anastasia Island, which is across from St. Augustine proper. The date on the bottom is 1924, and the statue appears to be done in a Roman style.  On the opposite side of the road at this end of the bridge is another lion.  As usual with paired sculptures, they are both facing in toward the road - meaning one has his head turned slightly to his right and the other to his left.

Now at the park, here is a picture of Barry with Shaman.  We'd traded off so that we'd both have a chance to walk him.  He has such energy!!!

Dave taking Shaman for a walk, or should that be being taken for a walk by Shaman.  All in all we had Shaman and Jasmine out for an hour walk on this day.

Shaman, the beautiful cougar kitten!  I was about 10 feet in front of him, shooting through the the chain link fence of his enclosure.
